MEAN WELL BIC-5K 5KW Bidirectional Power Supply

The BIC-5K Series combines AC-DC charging and DC-AC grid-tie inversion into a fully digitalized 5KW power platform capable of full-power operation in both directions. Designed with energy recovery functionality, the unit supports battery formation and grading systems, vehicle-to-grid (V2G) platforms, marine battery chargers, EV charging stations, kinetic energy recovery systems, and distributed energy storage applications.

Operating from a wide 180–305Vac input range (277Vac available), the BIC-5K delivers up to 5000W output with available DC voltage models of 24V, 48V, 96V, and 380V. The series achieves up to 93.5% efficiency with power factor up to 0.99 and <3% THD in both conversion modes. Parallel capability allows up to 6 units (5+1 configuration) for systems scaling up to 30KW with active current sharing.

Advanced features include CANBus or MODBus-RTU (RS-485) communication, remote ON/OFF control, intelligent fan speed control, conformal coating for harsh environments, and comprehensive protection functions including over-voltage, overload, short circuit, over-temperature, AC fail, and anti-islanding protection. Certified to IEC/EN/UL 62368-1, IEC/EN 62477-1, and IEC 50549-1 standards (OVC III), the BIC-5K is built for industrial, grid-connected, and energy infrastructure deployments.
