TRACO TSR 1 1A DC/DC Converters (POL)

TRACO Power TSR 1 Series switching regulators deliver up to 1A of output current with ten fixed output voltage options ranging from 1.2VDC to 15VDC. Depending on the model, input voltage ranges extend as high as 36VDC, providing flexibility for a broad range of point-of-load power designs. High efficiency of up to 96% enables full-load operation at ambient temperatures up to +60°C without a heat sink or forced-air cooling, while the overall operating temperature range extends from -40°C to +85°C. Compared with conventional linear regulators, the TSR 1 Series provides ±2% maximum output voltage accuracy, low standby current, excellent line and load regulation, and requires no minimum load. Built-in filter capacitors further simplify circuit design, while continuous short-circuit protection with automatic recovery and output current limiting enhance system reliability. As shown by the mechanical drawing on page 4 of the datasheet, the compact SIP3 through-hole package measures approximately 11.7 × 7.5 × 10.1 mm and is designed to fit an existing TO-220 footprint, making TSR 1 converters especially well suited for upgrading legacy 78xx regulator designs. Their combination of high efficiency, compact size, low standby consumption, and natural convection cooling also makes the series an attractive choice for battery-powered and other energy-conscious applications.
