TRACO Power TSR 2N DC/DC Converters (POL)

TRACO Power TSR 2N Series switching regulators deliver up to 2A of output current with ten fixed output options of 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, 5V, 6.5V, 9V, 12V, and 15VDC. Depending on the model, input voltage ranges extend from 4.6VDC up to 36VDC, supporting both 12V and 24V nominal input systems. Efficiency reaches up to 95%, while excellent thermal capabilities enable select models to operate at full load at elevated ambient temperatures without a heat sink or forced-air cooling. The series provides ±2% maximum output voltage accuracy, low no-load input current, no minimum load requirement, an internal input capacitor, and excellent line and load regulation. Integrated continuous short-circuit protection with automatic recovery, output current limiting, and undervoltage lockout help protect the converter and connected circuitry. The TSR 2N also features natural convection cooling, vibration performance according to MIL-STD-810F and MIL-STD-202, and a calculated MTBF of 3.2 million hours. As illustrated by the mechanical drawing on page 4, the compact 14 × 7.6 × 10.2 mm SIP-3 through-hole package is pin compatible with TO-220 package linear regulators, simplifying upgrades from less-efficient linear designs. With its emphasis on cost efficiency and reliable electrical performance, the TSR 2N Series is particularly well suited for high-volume industrial, embedded, instrumentation, and general-purpose DC/DC power applications.
